Rhode Island Infrastructure
Bank’s third Commercial-Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) project has received financing.
The project includes the installation of a ground-mounted solar array at Laurel
Lane Country Club in South Kingstown. The 121-kilowatt photovoltaic array will help
power the Club’s hospitality and golf operations while supporting the planned fleet
upgrade to electric carts.
The Club is projected to save approximately
five million kilowatt-hours over the 25-year term of the C-PACE loan – the same
amount of energy is used annually to power almost 400 Rhode Island homes. The
reduction in energy use translates into approximately $250,000 in reduced
expenses for the Club.
“The
projects that are being financed through C-PACE are bringing us closer to
achieving our ambitious clean energy goal of 1,000-megawatts by 2020,” said
Governor Gina Raimondo. “This project is another win for the state and part of
the reason why Rhode Island is leading the country in clean energy.”
Three
projects have now received financing through the C-PACE program and there is a
robust pipeline of prospective projects. To learn more about the C-PACE program
