Infrastructure Bank Celebrates Successful Infrastructure Week

Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank celebrated National Infrastructure Week last month by sponsoring a series of events that showcased local projects financed by Infrastructure Bank programs.  Also highlighted were the various infrastructure needs of Rhode Island cities and towns. The week included a total of twenty events in fifteen communities throughout the State.

Executive Director and CEO of the Infrastructure Bank Jeffrey Diehl co-hosted six roundtable discussions with municipal officials, local Chambers of Commerce and leaders in the private sector around Rhode Island. Attendees also included Congressman David Cicilline and members of Senator Jack Reed, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Congressman Jim Langevin's offices.

The following events highlighted investments made by Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank in the State's infrastructure:

  • Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza and Providence City Council President David Salvatore announced the Infrastructure Bank's $1 million investment in Providence Water's Lead Free Program.
  • Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien joined Jeffrey Diehl in announcing the closing of a Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) loan at the Pawtucket Medical Center Office.
  • Representatives of Senator Reed, Senator Whitehouse, Congressman Cicilline and Congressman Langevin celebrated the groundbreaking of the Warren Wastewater Treatment Facility upgrade project.
  • General Treasurer Seth Magaziner celebrated a local South Kingstown dry cleaner, Pier Cleaners, for becoming an early adopter of RI C-PACE.
"Infrastructure Week was a huge success and I'd like to thank all the municipal leaders who joined us in leading some great events throughout the week," said Jeffrey Diehl, Executive Director and CEO of the Infrastructure Bank. "We had many meaningful discussions about further infrastructure development and maintenance for Rhode Island that will surely lead to important developments for years to come."
